BSNL FTTH VOIP – Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is also climbing the steps slowly towards the brewing competition in the broadband sector. The state-owned telco has been making back to back revisions to its broadband plans to make them more attractive for new and existing customers as well. Now, the telco announced that now the BSNL FTTH broadband combo plans by BSNL would come with unlimited calling or VOIP. The change has been brought to the broadband plans portfolio of offering. Under the revision, the users will be eligible to place free calls to any network.These calls are made on Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP).
BSNL FTTH telephony works on VoIP , it’s totally ip based . Every user has been assigned to static Voice IP . Which is ultimately route your dial number to IMS core from where your number is re-routed to destination .
It is totally digital connection , no analog connectivity , thus call connection time is less , voice is clear and also you can connect conference call also under this.
In BSNL FTTH network, the landline is directly connected to ONT POT port.
How to check the Landline connectivity to ONT.
Steps to be followed to activate Voice (VOIP) in your BSNL FTTH and check VOIP status.
1. To the extreme right bottom, kindly check network and settings. Connect to the network of ONT/ BSNL Router.
2. Open Internet Explorer for better compatibility and accessibility. Or can be opened in any of the browser or even in mobile phone. Advisable – Internet Explorer.
3. Put 192.168.1.1 as default IP address of ONT in address bar.
4. Put in User name, Password and Verification code. Please ask your Service Provider.
5. Go to network.
6. Go to connection name and Select add new connection.
7. Change the service mode to Voice and fill all the complete form according to snap shown below.
8. Click on save and apply.
9. Now go to application given at the top menu bar.
10. Click on VOIP. Fill the form as snap shared below.
11. Down below, check the enable option below Line 1.
12. Fill the Account Number as the Landline number given by BSNL.
13. Put Landline Number in Account name.
14. Put the account Password and click save/apply.
15. Go to status. Click on WAN connection info and check weather voice is up or not.
16. Go to VOIP and check the service state, weather registered or not. If registered than VOIP is active.
